TRE® Video Links

There are numerous YouTube videos about TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises), including interviews with David Berceli, PhD, testimonials and shots of people tremoring. These are ones that I thought were particularly good when I reviewed many in 2018, although there may be ones that are even better that I didn’t review, especially since there have been many more recent videos. It’s important to listen to David talk about the work and to listen to the testimonials, and not just view the videos of the tremoring triggered by the exercises, as the latter may strike you as weird and scare you off. While many of the testimonials are from people who have experienced major traumas in their life with subsequent major disabling symptoms (such as with PTSD), there are several on the Global TRE website (see below) that are from relatively normal people with tension-related issues (e.g. under the topic of TRE for Work-related Stress). While I haven’t yet found videos that relate to TRE with children, it is being used with children, including children with ADD/ADHD, as well as those who have been traumatized.

Many will be pleased that there is now an Official video of the full set of 7 exercises available free online that briefly demonstrates each exercise as they are typically done to activate the tremoring mechanism. It is important to understand that this video is only a very brief introduction to and demonstration of each exercise, and does not include any of the modifications that are often made to meet individual needs.

If you would like to do the exercises on your own without the guidance of a Certified TRE Provider, the affordable Books and Videos cited on the TRE® Resources page are most suitable for this purpose, although the Official online video may also be used. This works for many people, but prior to doing this, be sure to review the information on this FAQ page of the Global TRE website:

https://traumaprevention.com/frequently-asked-questions/

Caution: While you may find some other videos on YouTube that claim to demonstrate the entire set of exercises that are used to activate the tremoring, I would caution you against using these videos as a way of learning the exercises. These are done by people who have not completed the entire TRE Professional Training, so they are not Certified TRE Providers. The ones I have seen do not provide appropriate instruction, either for how the exercises may be modified for specific purposes, or for appropriate guidance with respect to self-regulation while tremoring.

The Revolutionary Trauma Release Process      Interview with David Berceli, PhD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gw9rqB2fVBk    [27:15]       June 27, 2014
For Beyond 50's "Natural Healing" talks, listen to an interview with David Berceli, an international expert in the areas of trauma intervention and conflict. He'll explain about how the body freezes and the resulting physical tension prevents the emotional tension from being released, which maintains the negative thoughts. You'll learn how to easily access and release the tension by evoking body tremors for relief from mild to severe traumatic experiences.

Trauma from a Brain Perspective: Tracking the Neurological Impact of Trauma   David Berceli, PhD
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=li_XCGtHcac  [3:14]    May 13, 2013
David Berceli, CEO of Trauma Recovery Services, describes how we can track the impact of trauma in the brain. He says that trauma impacts both the body and brain, therefore the treatment of trauma involves trauma and the brain. Post- traumatic stress disorder is a prevalent issue in today's society, therefore trauma therapy and trauma healing are more important than ever.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0NooNBBro0  [9:17]  September 9, 2014
David attempts to explain the body's self-restorative mechanism. It is the body's ability to down-regulate the over-excited charge of a stressful event and restore its own homeostasis.

Myofascial Unwinding: Beautiful body movements!  David Berceli, PhD  comments as someone is tremoring
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WysHRgQFIlo   [6:25]  November 11, 2012
This amazing self-activated myofascial release occurs as a natural response of human neuro-physiology. This response is generated by the body's instinctual shaking mechanism activated by Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE). The person in this video is laying passively as his body moves itself like a living amoeba (an organismic response) that does not require cognitive training or guidance. It comes from a primitive part of the brain and the autonomic nervous system that is not under conscious control.
