TRE® Resources
Global TRE Website www.traumaprevention.com
This website is the first resource for further information about TRE (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises) and for a variety of short videos including testimonies and visuals of people tremoring. Includes a listing of Certified TRE Providers and information about Certification Trainings.
The website does not present the detailed instructions or photos/video for each of the exercises that facilitate accessing the innate tremoring mechanism, but such instructions and photos or videos are included in each of the books and DVDs listed below, as well as in the App. There are some minor variations in these instructions among the various resources depending on the publishing date. The how-to features of these resources are best used as a follow-up to individual or group instruction from a Certified TRE Provider who is trained to modify the exercises as needed for the students in view of their physical abilities, and to help the students apply the self-regulation principles in their practice of TRE. On the other hand, many people are able to use these resources to successfully incorporate TRE as an effective tool to release the tension that builds up in their body from the stresses of their daily activities
http://traumaprevention.com/frequently-asked-questions/
This is an especially important page because it includes guidelines for self-regulation which is critical for the safe practice of TRE on your own. These guidelines are also in the other sources listed below.
http://traumaprevention.com/outreach-and-humanitarian/
This page provides information about the not-for-profit TRE for All (TFA) and the humanitarian outreach efforts to bring TRE to communities traumatized by natural disasters, such as Nepal.

*The Revolutionary Trauma Release Process DVD (2008) by David Berceli, PhD [1 hr. 42 min.]
https://traumaprevention.com/store/the-revolutionary-trauma-release-process/ ($17.95 plus $6.45 shipping)
Dr. Berceli personally takes us through the Trauma Release Process™ in real time so we can follow along. As he does so, he demonstrates how to perform each of the exercises in the most beneficial manner. To make it easy to use the demonstration as a daily guide, the exercises are presented in a separate chapter of the DVD.
Along with showing us how to do the exercises, an in-depth interview with Dr. Berceli explains the different kinds of trauma and how they affect the mind and the body. Dr. Berceli relates how he first came to understand the impact trauma has on people, then reveals why the effects are enduring and impact the quality of our life for years to come.
After revealing how the body retains an accurate record of all the trauma we have experienced in life, Dr. Berceli shares with us how he developed the exercises and why they restore the muscles to a stress-free state so effectively.
The DVD also discusses how accepting the inevitability of trauma, rather than resisting it, can accelerate not only our personal growth but also our development as a species.
In addition to seeing the exercises demonstrated and learning with Dr. Berceli, you will also hear others discuss how the exercises changed their life.
*I recommend this video as the best single resource if limited finances preclude purchase of the book recommended above. While you won’t have written direction for the exercises, you can easily take detailed notes on the exercises, including their most common modifications.

While this is the most recent, and the exercise instruction does more precisely match the way TRE Providers are currently encouraged to teach, the differences are minor. The instruction in the other video will still facilitate accessing the innate tremoring mechanism quite effectively. I prefer the previous video (described above) because of the other parts of the video where you see three models doing the exercises, hear testimony from a variety of students, and a very powerful interview with the publisher of Namaste. Dr. Berceli’s introductory comments are also more natural and fluid in the previous video, like I’ve experienced him in trainings, whereas he seems very stiff and staged in this video. Some people may prefer this video to the one above, so see the reviews on Amazon.
